In March 2019, the Monteverde Natural Reserve became the first place in Costa Rica to design a map of charging points for its visitors’ electric vehicles. A network of 50 restaurants, hotels, attractions and other companies was created, offering electricity to visitors to arrive in electric vehicles in the area instead of in combustion vehicles.

In this session, we will talk with Katy VanDunsen, coordinator of the Monteverde Climate Change Resilience Commission (CORCLIMA) about the project. What are the impacts and the benefits of the project? how was the local economy and social environment influenced? And how was the creation process?
